Hello Fellow Hunters and Huntresses of Understanding!!! Here's a very easy, straight-forward way to develop the ever-valuable DETACHMENT (from the French, détacher "to untie," So, let Shakespeare "untie" from you all ignorance and set you adrift in the Sea of Understanding. Steps: 1. Make a bet at th dinner table with spouse/partner/child: "I can better memorize this immortal poem better the you can. You cap?" ('cap' is short for capable, power up!) 2. To make it real for everyone and give the task the gravitas it deserves, put some "skin in the game"; like 1000€ or 0.5 BTC or something along those lines. 3; Set a strict deadline. One week is just right, as it includes a weekend. Longer time frame is NOT desirable, even with small kids, as enthusiasm wanes and distractions multiply. Check your bank or BTC balance in the unlikely event that you lose. 4. Memorize this poem, as any other, with total obsession, in the car, while commuting on metro/train, waiting in line at bank or market, juwt before falling asleep, just upon awakening, while showering ..... you get the idea. 5. If you win your 1000€ or 0.5 BTC, be a little sad. You undersold it or discouraged your partner/kid. Try again with a shorter poem. Like this one: Eternity's Sunrise, by William Blake, https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/894399331465822208. 6. If you lose, be very, very happy, indeed. You have started a tradition of poetry reading. It would have been the best 1000€ you would have given to your partner's or kid's education. BTW, you would probably have given them the € anyway. Now they are inspired. How many colleagues' kids can recite Shakespeare? Niiiiiice!! 7. Once you get this up^and running, your partner or kid or friend, will report invariably less stress, better memory and sleep and that hath no price! Stay tuned, more detachment coming! ________________________________________________ All the World's a Stage by William Shakespeare (from As You Like It) All the world's a stage, ...
