"No pain, no gain" is a popular phrase in sports and fitness because the best way to improve is to train as hard as possible...to the point where you even become uncomfortable. We need to apply the same logic to political speech. The only way we can progress is by actually having the difficult conversations, even if they make you feel uncomfortable. The moment you stop pushing the limits is the same moment you stop improving.
