There is a pretty fascinating disparity in public perception of Facebook. On one hand, people like the authors of this article argue that Facebook is actually protecting free speech but enabling hate and misinformation to spread as a result. On the other hand, many argue that Facebook is censoring certain political opinions and intentionally interfering with how quickly certain information spreads. As different as these opinions may be, the irony is that both sides do have one thing they can agree on: Facebook is doing it wrong.
