This is journal entry #3: Currently in my quest to defeat all those RPGs I'm still in Icewind Dale II. Today this Journal post will be from the point of view of Dar'Kandra, a female Draw elf warrior.

When I was forced to flee Ust Natha, as my House was wiped out, I had no idea what I would be in store for me when I reached the surface. Lolth taught that enemies should be shown no mercy, and every enemy who has dared try and strike me down so far has ended up dead on my sword blade! Today was no exception!

Letting that blathering, preachy Helmite Paladin lead the group we liberated the Shanegarne Bridge. It wasn't easy, I myself was injured several times by the damned Morning star attacks of those wretched Bugbears! Thankfully for all his preachiness that idiot goody-goody paladin does have some measure of intelligence. As we attacked the ogres trying to destroy the Shaengarne Bridge, a wizard named Xuki attempted to negotiate with us. However, Brannon was smart enough recognize this as a delaying tactic. We tore into those ogres and that wretched female wizard. I relished the feeling of ending their lives! However, something is troubling me. Before we saved the Shaengarne Bridge one rather large Bugbear made mention of a Sherincal that he answered to. I believe the leader of this Horde is only a link in the chain of this Legion of the Chimera. Fortunately for us, unfortunately for Xuki, my male Terrax of Thay used a nice Deafness spell to cripple Xuki's spell casting ability. I find the ruthless efficiency of the Thayvian refreshing probably why when this is done I shall go with Terrax to Thay.

After returning from a successful mission Terrax wisely chose to have us get paid by speaking for the party. Better him than the paladin otherwise we would lose out on a lot of money, and I have no desire to live in poverty! Talking with the surfacer mayor Ulbrec Dinnesmare we learned that the Horde Fortress had been located. After buying some things from Ulbrec's wife, a surface elf of some magic power, we rested up got some potions and headed for the fortress. There we rendezvoused with a ranger named Enellia and learned her mate Braston had been captured by the horde. I, and Terrax, wanted to say he was probably dead but that Illmatar priest spoke for the party and assured her we'd find him. Bah, I say why bother? The Horde have probably killed him by my best estimate.

We decided to hunt down and destroy the drums the Horde had as those would summon more Goblins and Orcs. The strategies we employed worked. Though at one point we encountered a Winter Wolf who blasted the group with a cold spell. Garrett the Illmatarian was hurt, I myself wasn't thanks to the special gloves that protect against cold attacks. One thing this experience has shown me, as did the Worg Rider Captain Vghoten, is that Goblin Worg Riders are to be respected for their power, especially on the backs of their Worgs. We stand now at the entrance to the caverns beneath the Goblins fortress. Mali and Brianna have said they wish to see me as they have come up with a strategy for this situation. While I dislike the Assimar Monk and the Half-Elf Rogue I shall trust their judgement on this. At least for the time being, I shall be out of the sunlight. Which is good because it hurts my eyes. I look forward to being able to shove my scimitar blade into the innards of that large bugbear leading these Hordlings. Whoever you are, Horde leader, you will suffer, suffer greatly!

Well there you have it, folks, I hope you enjoyed this. Please feel free to offer up your comments in the comments section below. Let me know if there's anything I can do to improve things, or if you just praise for what you read, thanks for reading.
