This is journal entry # 2 of my RPG journal. This edition will be done in the point of view of Brannon leader of the mercenary party I run in Icewind Dale II.

By the good graces of my father, the lord of Guardians, Helm! When the party first arrived in Targos I had no idea how we would thrust into the middle of pandemonium right from the start! No sooner had we disembarked from Captain Hedron's ship the Wicked Wench when we ran into two of the Dock guards, one of whom was badly injured, we drove the Goblin invaders off but but not before they caused damage and casualties! What I found more vexing is that with Hedron and the others Terrax of Thay insisted on being the one who talks to them. I, for one, could not take the large rewards that were offered by the various grateful citizens because of the tenants of my faith. As Terrax of Thay explained, "It's because of those idiotic tenants of yours that we'd remain dirt poor paupers! I for one want to get paid!"

May my father forgive the Sorcerer his greed.

To tell of all the deeds we did in Targos would take many hours. The most important ones were Meeting Kolumn, a priest of accursed Myrkul who would actually helped us discover the pandemonium that was heading for Targos, Exposing a Doppelganger, and a Traitor in the town of Targos. Before we took down the Dopppelganger, we learned that it had been planning to send secret information to it's fellows, who have I fear, replaced the real Captain Mariner and his men. The priest of Tempus who gave us a set of new letters explained there would a little surprise for the Doppelgangers when they get them. I do not pretend to understand the Priesthood of Tempus but I trust in their Priesthood enough to have confidence in what they're doing.

Mali, unfortunately, has proven to have sticky fingers and has been searching every nook and cranny for potions and other things. Sometimes, my father Helm give me patience, I don't understand what Garrett sees in my cousin. I love my cousin dearly, but she can be a mischievous one, but then again she is a rogue. At the orders of Mayor Ulbrec we reported to Shawford Crale for duty. In the process we went around doing our best to improve morale and the technique of the soldiers defending Targos. Helm's blessings I was finally able to demonstrate my own abilities as a leader! Even Brianna mentioned that she was quite impressed. As for me, I took no pride in it as in accordance with my tenants all glory goes to Helm. Learning of the three pronged attack by the Goblins was troubling, but I took a smug sense of satisfaction in making those arrogant drunkards in the Iron Collar Mercenaries shape up and report for duty.

Unfortunately no sooner had reported our success with the Iron Collar mercenaries...then the three pronged attack started! I had heard tales of how formidable the Goblin Worg riders are, and Vghotan proved no exception. Goblin Captain Ghotrag was a fierce warrior. Cabellus the Sorcerer proved the most troublesome and even, as I found out later, succeeded in putting me to sleep for part of the battle. Thankfully Helm found to a way to put the Drow Warrior woman, Dar'Kandra's, bloodthirsty nature to good use.

Once we had cleaned up and healed, Terrax insisted on seeing we get paid. We then reported to Ulbrec and were ordered to head for the Shaengarne river, which had been taken over by the horde forces. We rescued a couple of druids, and at their insistence bought a Deafness spell from them. Though what Terrax wants with it I know not. Oh father, Lord of Guardians, give me patience, I do not understand the machinations of the Thayvian. We encountered a loud-mouthed Orc named Torak. As we found out later he wasn't the true leader of the orcs in the region. They were actually under the control of a troll named Vrek. But with the blessing of Illmatar and Helm we succeeded in defeating them, and for our efforts received a powerful Moonblade which can only be wielded by those who are righteous and lawful such as myself. Next we dealt with a dam that was being guarded by priests of the Beast lord Malar. Those Priests hit hard as did the Artic Boars with them. Still we defeated them, wutth the blessing of Helm! And now we are rested up and stand ready to liberate Shanegarne Bridge from this Legion of the Chimera group. I fear the final battle will not be easy. So before we go I shall pray that Helm grants us victory in this fight and in all the battles I suspect are yet to come.

There you are, folks. I hope you enjoyed this. Another entry coming soon.
