One who always prefers truth. One who knows every one who believes they have the "truth", is biased in some way....and needs to recognize that about themselves. Self examination leads to critical thinking. Critical thinking is required now more than ever else in my life, with a regime running the country without morals or ethics. Not talking religion here. Talking humaneness. We have the capacity to recognize all our emotions....that they are not the sole determinant of how we must react to everything that happens to us. And at the same time, our emotions are what make us human. Suggesting we get rid of them, or suppress them is not the answer. You have to know who you are, why you say and do what you do....and then you have to determine if that is helpful or not.....and not just to you, but to everything and everyone around you. Humans are herd animals. They must have the herd to survive. One cannot be a total independent entity, because at some point in every life, you have to have assist from others to stay alive. You cannot expect more than you give yourself, and yet need to keenly recognize when someone has given you much more than you asked for.....or expected. that inspires me to want to pass it on. Not everyone reacts that way. There still are those who take it as an opportunity to take even more because it is easy to spot those who will let them. Fairness is all anybody wants. Yet there are those who want more than that for themselves, and do not regard your wishes of any value compared to their own. You need to know who they are and how they operate. And yet, one cannot treat everyone the same, as if they think and feel as you do. Human life, human interaction, is much more complex than many people want to believe. Life is a perpetual learning journey, that continually changes right up to one's last breath. We need to appreciate ours, and that of everyone else here.
