Water Anole Breathing Underwater: Water anoles, also known as Anolis aquaticus, act as tiny scuba divers in the Costa Rican streams of their natural habitat. Water anoles evade predators by swimming and diving underwater for extended periods of time. These lizards recycle air stored in pockets attached to their head and body.
