Cooperating to forge a new reality on Minds. Alrighty folks. We are trying to nail down a time for CEO of Minds @ottman to talk about some of the community concerns surrounding the Minds mobile app on the Google Playstore, and the NSFW/Jury system, for which he has graciously agreed to. EDIT: The time is written in stone... Tuesday 11:00 AM EDT If you want to check out this meeting, you will want to log into the MCOSI Meeting chat here: https://www.mcosi.org/meetings If Bill has the time, he may take on any questions you might have, in which case you will want this room: https://riot.im/app/#/room/#mcosi-general:matrix.org Please, if you decide to show up for this momentous moment, dont forget to take your peace pills, and keep it amicable. If you have any issues logging into any of the chats, please feel free to hit me up in Messenger. .............................................................................................................................................................. #mcosi #minds #mindsusergroup #mug #announcement

Firefox is an amazing browser. It’s fast, smooth and respects your privacy & security very much. Firefox also comes by default on most Linux distributions, such as Debian/Fedora/openSUSE. It also has the ability to add addons, which will allow you to boost your productivity a lot depending on your user setup. Here is a list of what I consider to be mandatory addons that protect your privacy/anonymity. These very same addons are also available for the open source Chromium browser. https://fosspost.org/lists/firefox-addons .............................................................................................................................................................. #computing #firefox #opensource #mug #education

The sprawling Nazca Lines have long been cloaked in mystery. The enormous geoglyphs number in the thousands and portray everything from animals and plants to seemingly mythical beasts and geometric patterns. Now, researchers have found some of Peru's massive creations depict non-native birds. No one knows why the Nazca Lines were made, and it's too early to say why the pre-Inca people who carved them would have been interested in non-native birds. The Nazca Lines are enormous geoglyphs, created with piled stones or carved into the dry desert ground. Most are geometrical shapes or drawings of animals made with one continuous line. The Nazca people began crafting these lines, both by carving into the desert and using piles of stones, around 200 B.C. Archaeologists suspect they had a religious purpose, perhaps the creations served as labyrinths that pilgrims or priests may have walked. https://www.livescience.com/65755-mysterious-nazca-lines-birds-identified.html ............................................................................................................................................................... #science #anthropology #nature #culture #education

Daily Earth and Sun Report 6.20.2019 Solar Wind: speed: 364.0 km/sec density: 5.9 protons/cm^3 A blank sun today with no sunspots of flares. However, there are some coronal holes, and they began impacting the earth last night, intensifying geomagnetic activity. 6:11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m7KoKJ49eU ............................................................................................................................................................ #science #space #nature #earthscience #nasa
