2. Assess and reduce what you “need”.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In all the ways that you now use a smart phone, how did you manage before you had one? Is that still feasible today? If not, could you switch some things around and make it feasible? ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Some examples: If you need to stay in contact with babysitters, parents, children, you’re on call, etc., remember that your phone still receives calls and texts without having the cellular data on.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you don’t need to be constantly available, do you really need to have your phone connected while you’re at dinner with a friend, walking in a park, doing housework, etc.? Rearrange your attitude towards your phone: use it less and be present with what’s in front of you in your life more.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ If social media, gaming, etc. apps are a main way that you connect with loved ones, start thinking about how you can change that, choosing in person visits, wired phone/video calls, etc. instead. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Schedule meetings with people that are important to you and change the expectations that you are always going to be available, even for non-emergencies.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣
Don’t use unnecessary apps that require you to be connected during use. If you’re playing a game, using social media, or streaming videos, just because you’re choosing to do that instead of something else, seriously consider whether you love those things enough to be causing your body real harm.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Either delete those apps or only use them if/when you’ve already downloaded the data and you can access it when offline. (There will be a separate post for children and EMF, but this is especially true for children. A phone is not a toy. What did parents do before these were an option?) ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Don’t use bluetooth devices if there are wired alternatives: airtube headphones, for example, instead of airpods. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ And trade in your phone without a headphone jack for one that does, or get a dongle to accommodate wired headphones.⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ (Cont in next post in the series) #emf #emfsafe...
