This is an awesome photograph of the fore courtyard of the Zwinger, a castle located in the German city of Dresden, built in Baroque style and designed by court architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. The name Zwinger refers to the original position of the complex, between the inner and outer fortress wall. The building was mostly destroyed by British and American carpet bombing raids on Dresden in1945, but later reconstruction started, with the support of the Soviet military administration in 1945, with parts of the restored complex opened to the public in 1951; and fully restored in 1963. .................................................................................................................................................................. #culture #architecture #nature #photography #education
