Post show: it was a swell time all around. Kepi and Kevin Seconds and Dan Janisch were great as they always are. A lot of the usual suspects showed up, including Marisa and Michelle, and some from far flung regions like Marco from Milan and, of course, @laurenbanjo, Jersey girl. These shows are like little reunions. I don't even mind the socializing all that much if I've had a few drinks. Which I had. Kepi, Kevin, and Dan did the singersongwriter "round robin" format for the first hour and a half, where you sit in a row or semi-circle and go song for song. Dan played solos and incidental electric guitar stuff during some of the songs and they all joined in on the vocals from time to time, a big camaraderie fest that was really fun to watch. It's nobody's fault but mine, but the inevitable result is I wind up not being very entertaining and kind of hating myself in the end. I just don't work or play well with others. Never have. I don't think I've ever played "Hanging on to You" solo, or at all in the past twenty years, and same with "All My Promises" (which works pretty well that way.) I forgot the lyrics to "Swiss Army Girlfriend" at the first chorus, but Marisa reminded me what they were after an awkward pause, just like she's been doing since she was a teenager. (By the way, Lauren Banjo recently pointed out something I'd never realized before per se, which is that one reason my songs a...
