I am using two Thai Dhab swords in the Krabikrabong style from Thailand. My opponent is a European (Sabre?) Fencer My KrabiKrabong teacher is Kru Pedro Solana at Muay Thai Sangha Chiang Mai Thailand At this event, I was representing the Academy of Jeet Kune Do ScienceS, and we were matched up with students from En Garde Fencing It is a lot of fun to take our martial-arts oriented approach to the weapons and have some friendly matchup with the HEMA and fencing guys. Man that was a mouthful This isn't a match where I scored the most points - but it is one I'm really proud of. Trying to match the speed and footwork of a skilled fencer was a real test of where I've been able to get to with the Thai swords. This is an art I have been training in, in addition to my regular more practical martial arts. I just love the history behind it, and the cross-training keeps you improving all of your other attributes -and honestly keeps it all fun. I can still feel that I have a lot of room to grow my skill with these blades, and I'm now pretty excited to see where it is in the next couple of years. #martialarts #martial #sword #thailand #HEMA
