Pussy Melter Update So if you'll remember, I missed the boat on Steel Panther's Pussy Melter pedal last year. tl;dr: first it was just an effects plug-in, then the plug-in was censored and deleted, and then, well to quote myself at the time: https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/898619427957022720?referrer=frankportman "Somehow, I missed the next chapter of the story till I saw [a review] video last night. It seems that Satchel and Steel Panther responded to the deletion of the effect by actually making a physical stomp box and selling it via their website, limited edition and all that. I get it. That's how I do records, same basic principle. They can't remotely delete something you've got in your drawers. But I missed it and it was all sold out by the time I got there. At $199, it was kind of pricey anyway, but like I said it is funny and I am in the market, plus now it's a kind of collector's item and, dare I say, a free speech symbol..." But realistically, I figured, you can't always get what you want, and I resolved to learn to make do without a Pussy Melter, which I in fact was able to manage. But now, as you can see, I have one, a generous Valentine's Day gift from our own Lauren Banjo who used to be in the gear business and who followed the vagaries of the Pussy Melter saga and acted accordingly to make a miracle happen.
