I was the Quillette editor on this piece, and I had to look up a lot of basic information during the editing process. I didnt even know who PewDiePie is. I've been struck by the MASSIVE reaction to this article in the last few days. It suggests to me that many traditional editors like me just have ZERO idea how massively influential YouTube culture has become
