I just generally assume that all crowd funding and solicitations for donations on the internet are scams, especially when they involve feel-good stories that offer "virtue signaling" opportunities. People seem to think, though, that just being on the internet makes it legit, which is pretty astonishing. Similarly astonishing: all those people "donating their birthdays" on Facebook.... Facebook, the least trustworthy organization since the US government? Trust no one, but you're gonna make one exception... I see, you're going with Facebook? Solid.
