The concept of hate speech is ridiculous. It doesn't make sense that the First Amendment only applies to popular or unoffensive speech. Popular and unoffensive speech does not need protection.The Supreme Court has explained this many times. Hate speech is an ideological invention explicitly designed to repress the expression of certain ideas. It is an ideological tool disguised as a moral good. It encroaches into the realm of free communication in a way that no other law or censor in modern times has done. It polices not only ideas, but also emotions and feelings. It is the definition of Government overreach and has all the ingredients of tyranny. Yet the majority just falls right in line with whatever which way they are led. Those who attempt to clamp down on hate speech always present themselves as radicals. But actually, they are the foot soldiers of a top down tyrannical attempt to suppress the expression of ideas. There is only speech, and all speech should be free.
