Happy Independene Day. Thanks to all who protect our freedom, and gratitude that the revolutionaries of 1776 had not only a desire to escape tyrrany for themselves but also the genius to design a constitution that recognizes the rights that make this country great: Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Protect Oneself, Privacy in one’s person, property and papers, freedom from quartering soldiers in private homes, no double jeopardy, no being deprived of life, liberty or property without due process, the right to a speedy public trial with a jury of one’s peers, the right to face one’s accusers and to have defense council, no excessive bail, and any powers not given to the government by the Constitution belong to the people.
