SGT ASHLY MOYER 1985-2007 This post is dedicated to the memory of a friend and all around decent human being. At the time, I had known Ashly for nearly 15 years, and in that reasonably brief amount of time she left a lasting impact in my life as she undoubtedly did to many others that crossed paths with her. She was the type of person who often put helping out others in need first before herself, and long desired to make this world a better place to live for all. She was only 21 years old when her life was cut short by a roadside bomb in Iraq on March 3, 2007. Additional details about her could easily be found online by simply searching her name and military title. It does not matter what your own personal politics are or if you hold any political beliefs at all, Ashly was a typical young adult who had dreams and aspirations, and deserved to live out those said dreams. Her story is a sad reminder of the price there is to pay when men cannot agree with each other and conclude the only way of resolving their issues is to go to war, and involve unsuspecting people into their web of insanity in the process. Those who do not learn from history shall eventually given enough time be doomed to repeat it, and to this day 11 years after Ashly's death I still see people in positions of authority in this country continue making the same errors. It is my hope that this post reaches a sizable audience, and make Ashly's name become known to more of my fellow Americans. If by chance any of Ashly's family members see this post and would like me to remove it for personal reasons, just let me know in the comments and I will take it down. I never did get to thank Ashly properly for being a good friend, so this tribute to her memory will have to do. Life is short and unexpected events occur that could drastically alter a person's life in a single day. If there is someone in your life who has made a positive impact on you, do not hesitate to thank them, you won't be sorry you did so.
