NEW $100 DONATION RECEIVED FOR THE FRIDGE! * Please reMind our story to your subscribers, and kindly donate Boost Points if you can. * Karen (the lady helping us with the fund raising on Generosity.com, which is dedicated for the purpose of repatriating my family, and who has contributed the initial $200 to purchase the fridge several months ago) informed me that she received a $100 cash donation on our behalf a couple of weeks ago. She will forward this along with the $50 donated by "A concerned Catholic" to repatriate my family when Generosity releases this $50 to her. This private $100 donation is a great relief. It reduces the estimate to completely buy the fridge down to $150 (plus the financing cost now). The trust that goes into these donations is very humbling, and I am very grateful for it. Until this point in my life I have never been on this side of life and the experience gives me a lot to think about. Perhaps because I was brought up to be an evangelical, I am reminded about the story of Gideon https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-stories/3/gideons-army/ ===================================== One last comment I wish to make is regards to trust. The amount that is donated on the Generosity.com site is for the money needed to get us home and in a position to fend for ourselves once we get home. The donation tally is there to see. There is no item on that budget to replace the fridge, or to replace the plumbing inside our rented flat that will surely need to be replaced sooner rather than later. In fact, the water pipes for the whole building have been under repair over the last several months and I suspect this will end with a central administration fee. Whatever maintenance expenses occur while we remain in Poland, these are a separate issue. This is why remaining in Poland is not an option for us. I suppose if I were confident, or presumptuous, that we would receive funding for the fridge I could just "borrow from Peter to pay Pau...
