As someone in healthcare, I have it on good authority that many insurance companies, hospitals, and manufacturers have been colluding for years.
This is the primary issue that will cause nearly every attempt at truly reforming health care in the U.S. to fail unless we put a stop to this bullshit.
Habitual overpayments like this tell me one important thing-- That health insurance rates are so obviously inflated that money can be thrown around willy-nilly.
