The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department family honors and remembers Deputy Jack Miller, who died on January 9, 1988. Jack succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained the previous day while serving a narcotics search warrant at a home on West 55th Street. One suspect was killed in the ensuing shootout. A woman and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at the scene and charged with murder. Deputy Miller had served with the agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife and two children. Time may have passed, but Jack will never be forgotten.
