Exceptionally cold around Lake Geneva

The lake creates a microclimate with much milder temperatures than usual for the region. The area around Montreux is called the little Riviera. They even have palm trees, because temperatures remain so mild even in winter. Tonight, they hit -7C. At that point, they have to protect the trees so they don't die...
