Today we celebrate the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, who is known to all Christians as the one who preceded the Lord and who baptized Him. St. John's work was great before God because he forgot himself and lived and worked only for the glory of God. He shows that our own will and desires lead to misery. Thus, every day we should sacrifice some of our inclinations to the Sacred Heart of Our Lord and little by little lose ourselves in Him. We must decrease so that He will increase. St. John the Baptist, ora pro nobis!
