So, here’s my theory: The reason why pretty much everything could be emulated before, whereas entire systems cannot now is because no one cares. After all, console and PC were both different sorts of games targeting different niches… until the XBOX made them shitty modelocked PCs instead. And then, why bother with some dumbed down console version when you can get the PC version? Why even buy the console? Someone could easily crack them if they cared… but we don’t.
