I try to withhold judgement about creative works, on the principle that anything can work, and anything can fail. Eggers could definitely nail the spooky parts of Labyrinth. I haven't seen all of Eggers' movies, but the ones I have seen make me wonder if he could handle the playful parts. Also, the article makes no mention of the Henson Creature Workshop. Those two things make me a bit leery.
