Imagine Getting This Threatening Email, but Knowing They’ve Got Nothing

The other day, I found an email from my own address.

"Odd." I thought, "I don't remember forwarding myself anything."

Turns out, I didn’t.

Here’s what it says:

Big trouble?!

Nice opener, I must say.

Not the usual, “My grandma died and left $12 million.” No, this one’s got some flair.

Let’s see what kind of "trouble" we're in.

Oh, and there's a promise of a "solution." Great copy! I'm hooked. Now, I want to read further.

An international group of hackers?

Well, well, well. I’ve made it! Famous, at last! And my fans are not anonymous.

Sure, totally believable...

Can you imagine a group of professional hackers attacking random people just to blackmail them?

I'm not that important.

With hacking skills, there are much easier ways to make money than sending emails to random people.

Yeah, I was asking! Did they hack my brain too?!

But I don't watch pornography.

“Unconventional pornography?” Wow, now I’m curious! Maybe someone is using my phone without my knowledge.

I haven’t opened anything like that in forever.

Apparently, there’s spyware on my computer from visiting some explicit site.

Problems:

I don’t visit those sites.

I don’t click pop-ups.

My browser blocks pop-ups from popping up.

Now I’m truly intrigued!

How can I be sure they’ll delete this "evidence" and not come back for more?

I want them to come back again. This is so entertaining!

For a moment, let's imagine it's a real deal. I doubt my friends and family will open a video from a random person that clearly has pornographic content on it. If they do open it, they'll see what it is and close it after 2 seconds feeling disgusted. After that, they will block the sender.

If they hacked me and knew me, can't they check if I have a crypto wallet?

Dude, how can I reply, if it's my address you send it from?!

I will just give it a wave looking at my camera.

Well, that was a cool letter. I might be worried if they had anything more than footage of me picking my nose. But nope—I’m sleeping well tonight.
