We've been crazy about blackberries for decades and July is the big month. We don't mess with those thornless cultivated varieties. That would be much too easy. We go out into the prickly brambles and experience the full heat, the chiggers, the poison ivy. These travails add to the joy of tasting the true blackberry flavor.
