I have never "fixed" and airconditioner in my life unti Friday (unless you count rigging up a blower control bypass in my Saturn over a decade ago). As of today I've fixed two. I'm a network administrator with extra hardware in the mix. Somehow that now includes fixing airconditioners. Well, I guess I'll add it to my list of skills.
