Ok, weird thought, imagine your approaching a planet at FTL. You have the planet up on a view screen, using some kind of built in telescope. Beceause your approaching the planet from Light Years away, you could in theory be seeing years, millennia, or centuries, even ages into the planets past. You might watch as continents move, and greenery comes and goes, as sea's dry up and mountains rise... That really freaky and kinda cool.
