The current medical model is toxic to everyone. It hurts ordinary kids who just feel misunderstood. It hurts gay/lesbian/bisexual kids who are struggling to accept their sexuality. And it hurts transgender kids— who might never have chosen to be sterilized if they understood what was happening to them. Not all trans people need transition.
