One thing I don't see very much in the electric car discussion is the fact that your "gas" would now come from a public utility/regional monopoly. Have you ever had your electric bill jump up, and there's nothing you can do about it besides eat shit? No shopping around. No partial fill-ups to wait for lower prices. No membership club prices. No begging Saudis to increase production. Just "fuck you." You'll pay what we tell you to pay, and you'll like it.
