It is never good to be dependent on an enemy for something you can't do without. Germany was foolish getting so much of its energy from Russia. The US, that was energy independent 2 years ago, was foolish for shutting down domestic production and now begging Iran, Venezuela, and other anti-American nations for oil/gas.
