Also worth noting is that the word "snake" in the original language used in Genesis was not a noun, it was a descriptor that had three meanings: "snake-like/snakey", "deceiver/deceptive" and "shining one". Thus when the Bible says that Eve was deceived by the snake it really means that she was deceived by "that deceptive snake Lucifer", in the same way an Italian would describe someone as a rat.
