More from Dr Frank

Death recorded: it was apparently this bit of text that finally got Dr Naomi Wolf suspended from the twitter after years of what seems very much like trying. I will probably always feel a sort of connection to Dr Wolf because of a song I once wrote about her, and these days I feel weirdly protective of her. Clearly, she was a crackpot all along, and of late has worked diligently to push the boundaries of crackpottery to startling new realms. But, well, she's my crackpot. I feel bad for her and wish her well. A lot of people who dislike said crackpottery are celebrating now, which is something I really don't get. Surely it is better to engage with and dispute the crackpottery (if it's that important to you) than to throw a blanket over it and imagine it's not there anymore. At her worst, Naomi Wolf is the price you pay for free speech. And she's worth it. (And I can guarantee that a throrough search of your own soul would reveal some eminently bannable crackpottery of your own: the shifting sands of orthodoxy make strict and total rectitude logically impossible beyond any particular moment.) Anyway, it was indeed just a matter of time. And I'll miss the show.
