Well I think I have to do some kind of public service since there is this thing going around that Italy is on the brink of civil war and the vaccine is mandatory for everyone. As for now. This is not true. I repeat. NOT TRUE. I live in Italy btw. So here's a summary of the situation from what I'm aware of. - Lockdowns are still going on and off. One day you're yellow and can move around, the other day you're orange or red and can't leave your region. But from next month seems some places are reopening. - The Green Pass. Yes it appears this is a thing. I still don't know when, where and how you get this since I don't travel much and the news are not very clear on the matter, and haven't seen anyone close to me using it. Anyway it should be needed only for the orange and red regions. You can get it if you got the vaccine or if you tested negative (but you have to pay for the test). - Mandatory vaccination. The vax is only mandatory for people that work in the medical field (doctors, hospitals and pharmacies). If you have some medical condition that makes it risky to take the vax you can go to your doctor and get and exemption. Other people have to sign up to get it, meaning they have to request it voluntarily. Of course the Government wants everyone to take the jab, but still, forcing a medical treatment on people is against our Constitution. - The Civil War. This is pure fantasy roleplaying. Nobody is doing any civil war. From what I've seen, most people are willing to take the jab and don't even question it, and the anti-vaxxers are mocked and criticized everywhere, so don't get your hopes up. This is the current situation. Things might change in the future, of course. This is an official link where you can see what the Council of Europe says on the matter: https://pace.coe.int/en/files/28925/compendium 7.3.1. ensure that citizens are informed that the vaccination is NOT mandatory and that no one is politically, socially, or otherwise pressured to get themselves vaccinated, if they do not wish to do so themselves; Hope this is helpful.
