The Cumbemayo aqueduct : Cumbemayo in the Inca language means “thin stream". The aqueduct is at least 8 km long and was carved into the volcanic bedrock. It is claimed to have been made at least 3000 years ago, but no one knows who did the work.Originally, the aqueduct was much longer, but over time became silted up and grown over with plants. Amazingly, there are zig zags along its present 8 km path that would have assisted in removing silt from the water, and actually could have allowed water to run uphill. #Inca #aqueduct #1000BC #ancient #minds
