The Cult of Covid has all the hallmarks of an emerging religion, where the state is God. It has it all: ritual, redemption, holy dress, penance, zealotry, sin, eternal damnation, heresy, and a priest class. We won't be able to reach these fanatics. Strict adherence to all the sacraments is a way of creating a sense of meaning and security in their empty, fearful lives. Here, we see a zealous young woman who believes her salvation has come through the vaccine sacrament.
