The Service-Career Problem — A police officer runs into scumbags daily, year after year. At a certain point, the arresting of a person becomes less “in the now” and more in the muscle memory. Due to the reality of it being scumbags that the officer is constantly arresting, the unusual time where there is a truly good/innocent person attempting to make their case, the muscle memory will prove to have blinded the ability to see it. And so it is with the medical field, the psych field, and so on. Where has the human connection gone?
