Regular chess is 2 intelligences commanding an army each, in direct conflict of strategies and camouflage of those strategies to the other's anticipation. Proposing: quantic trichess, 3 player chess over regular chess moves, (quantic because activity is split by tiled land and role rather than by army side). Player 1 controls all soldiers and both kings; Player 2 controls all rooks, bishops, knights, queens, on Black tiles. Player 3 controls all rooks, bishops, knights, queens, on White tiles. Same objective, slaughter each other's armies until the winner can kill or capture a king. All legal chess moves, one at a time in turn. For colour-tile players, remember to land to, and force the other to move to, tiles you can control. It is not as much 'taking a piece' as 'what you give up - that will end up in tiles of your opponent - to remove that target from the board'. (If you must murder, use a knight... knights swap control tile by L move every time). For soldier-king players, try not to kill your own pawns, resist old chess instinct. At any time, one player may chose 'pass' and skip a round, but then, if both other players stall and skip a round, the first one to pass must now move if a legal move is available. In less competitive environments one may just go skip a few rounds to the toilette while the match goes on around, not being too pushy on the pass. For practical tries, use a tablet and a chess software to reinforce the rules, pretending to be 2 local players. It may get messy at first, but also hilariously well. For tournament experimentation, call me in also. For more, Rem/Lik/Sub/chat/wire/&/#FractalUniverseRevolution ! (there are more chess combinations than unique quantic combinations of our cosmos, the #FUR has already happened in chess worlds, just sayin')
