Synthnostate SOUNDTRACKS You can hear a few demo tracks on our GameJolt page (https://gamejolt.com/games/synthnostate/445186) and we have a lot of material in the pipeline. I used to have a playlist on loop with all my demo tracks and inspirations; that really helped to keep me focused on the work when I'm at the computer, gotta do that again. Some of the latter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-oU2xlViRQ&list=PLvcQLVElBoaPq8AMbfGrH3k_cP7sGuDEz&index=1 "Thermonuclear Autism" (WIP) might be as close as we get to a synthesizer track. It's my take on 80s cyberpunk retro-futurist rock, built around a synth-like guitar riff with no FX except distortion/reverb/EQ. lol. Mostly, it's gonna be instrumental metal. This is, after all, a game about alien synthclones, and it was loosely inspired by the Megadeth song "Hangar 18" after Nick Menza's death 5 years ago. And I'm a big disciple of the Priest-Megadeth guitar sound. For contrast we'll also have some quiet ambient tracks, traditional and baroque, a fashwave Bach arrangement, chillwave / elevator music... Currently I'm rehearsing heavy guitar versions of several anthems for use as battle music: USA, CSA, CCCP, Scotland the Brave, and the Brazillian and Israeli paratrooper songs to fulfill our diversity quotas, lol. (The last one is more chillwave but we better make sure it's out of copyright, don't wanna get sued... if not we'll use the national anthem they stole from OUR people.) We might even commission a few pieces from composers and/or license some existing indie tracks (that aren't owned by big record labels) if we can arrange suitable terms for a video game (so we don't have to remove the tracks from future editions or open source releases, so lame).

https://doomcult.itch.io/synthnostate/devlog/77080/hype-101 Revisiting my big "Hype 101" devlog post from July 2019 (pre-Minds-indiedev-group, before my time here at least)... the only time my Itch devlog ever really got noticed, lol. Twitter in particular has been a huge waste of time. I was wary of the pitfalls of Twitter (addiction, censorship, and the follower game) but I succumbed to them anyway. I actively used it throughout 2019+20 and all I have to show for it are missed deadlines and a few dozen cool people I'm still connected with here on Minds. At least I had the foresight to put Minds, Gab, and Telegram next on my list. I have to limit myself to comfy forum-like platforms like this where I can check in once a day or so. You can't go viral like that, but going viral is overrated; I've only ever succeeded with witty/edgy political things. It's probably best for industry networking. Whenever the dust settles I'm hoping to work on a team project... something more ambitious than a solo indie RPG.. with a few devs and dedicated artists, writers, VAs, maybe even a publisher to handle the funding and marketing side. It's tough to do it all, but I had to... big tech sucked all the oxygen out of the room, got all the devs hooked on big money, artsy people chasing clout, hot women milking simps... what a shitshow! Maybe the Great(er) Reset thing will be a blessing in disguise for independent business when the only "easy money" is $2000 a year UBI (or $600 the way it's going) and a game developer with a small farm and a stash of TP actually has something of value to offer. Hahahaha.

Getting ourselves psyched up to finish this project... here we go, an old devlog post about ChiCom fuckery to remind us what it's all about: "Somehow this has been very motivational. All the loose threads in Crusaders suddenly clicked into place and I remembered what's important: good combat, memorable characters, hard choices, very different endings, ok graphics, and having a spine." LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO!!! TAKE BACK THE PLANET!!!! https://doomcult.itch.io/synthnostate/devlog/104606/glowing-in-the-dark
