Yeah I have been pointing this out to friends for a little while. It is just blatantly attempting to harm an app in competition with other big tech.
This is why I am not buying from google anymore. Not that it will really affect them, just that I will be able to sleep easier at night knowing I don't support them or give them my data.

Google: there's nsfw content on there, regulate your app or it's out of the store
Meanwhile twitter: hardcore porn, literal cp, zoos and other disgusting shit
Google: this is fine
