Even supposing that COVID-19 is extremely dangerous, why would anybody care under the present paradigm? Why would you have any stock in the well-being of the people around you, unless you lived in a proper homogeneous, cohesive community?

Will conservatism finally collapse as a political force in the next few years? I bloody well hope so. The events of the past few days have forced the conservative talking heads to show their true colours. They are a bunch of cowards who have no other solutions than to engage in "debate" or "reasoned discussion" with people who have no willingness to engage in such things. Conservatism has a long track history of failure to prevent the encroachments of progressivism.
