Had this shown to me, I think AI is probably one of the most shyster-filled fields in STEM today, which is a real shame because there are amazing advancements being made, however, said advances are frequently overshadowed by snake oil like Sophia (and nearly every other of the million proclamations that the Turing test has been shattered for the first time). Learning that the creator of this glorified speak & spell PR stunt is also a slimeball, who took pleasure in an attempt to torment a severely mentally ill elderly man just a month before his death, just ties it all together. My compliments to the mushroom man youtuber who made the video, it's well worth a watch.
