Fun fact. Certain plants can regenerate and grow roots from just a single branch. You can try this trick from a friend’s plant or even some fresh herbs that you buy at the supermarket (your success rate will likely improve when you lean more towards farmer’s market and get them in water as promptly as possible). This is rosemary. It takes a bit longer and is a bit more challenging than something easy like basil, but if you take a bunch of sprigs, cut off the dead stumps, remove the leaves at the bottom, and put them in fresh water, you should have some roots starting to appear in about two weeks. Any unsuccessful ones will be better preserved by being kept alive this way than in a refrigerator so you have nothing to lose. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/03/27/822514756/fearing-shortages-people-are-planting-more-vegetable-gardens
