ABISAI Hello everyone, having a good life, eh? As what I did before in my previous posts, today I wanted to share my love for photography with all of you, with a little twist on the poem. For today’s post I decided to post my own poem (although, it’s more of a lyric). I’m not a perfect or good poet, but I will surely try to be one of the good ones, or maybe even reach perfection someday in the future, hopefully. But,that’s the beauty of art isn’t it? It creates beauty upon imperfectness (well, in my opinion, at least). Before I say anything further, I wanted to apologize to you all for my imperfect english. I am trying to improve it day by day by writing and speaking. So if you have any thoughts on my writing and my poem, please tell me. The picture I wanted to share today is a picture of a pink sunset in a beach. Just as simple as that. I am trying to exhibit a sense of balance here in this picture, as my poem will describe. The poem I made for this picture is called ‘A Vessel and Home’. I wrote it exactly after I took the picture I show you today. I try to ask the audience to harm the nature no more, well, it’s a cliche, but I think it’s a relevant message to deliver these days. So, here it is, I hope you like it. A Vessel and Home by Abram Abisai Prasetyawan (2019) Fire, the travelling lamp Burns, yet never kills Water, broader than a swamp Plenty, yet never fills Not the Heavens nor the Hell It's our world we long to dwell Home to the fire Vessel of the water Bring Her no sorrow! It's a place we only borrow A space to weep As stones gone steep A lodging of joy As glee plays no coy #photography #myphoto #sunset #poetry #minds
