STE Collective, a "DIY" collective that promoted punk rock shows since the '80s posted this flier from the MTX 1992 Southampton, UK show at the Joiners Arms (notable for having been captured on video with unusual completeness and clarity. With this caption: "S.T.E. 37! - MR T EXPERIENCE/GOOBER PATROL - Wed 8 July 1992 - Southampton Joiners. Back to normality after the drama of the BORN AGAINST & NOFX gigs - just a great, energetic punk rock show! This was GOOBER PATROL's first S.T.E. gig (they supported the whole tour I think) & they were a good, fun bunch of lads (Stuart Sandall, Simon Sandall) from Norwich. MR T EXPERIENCE were on Lookout Records & from the Bay Area & we'd also been up to London the night before to see them at the Sir George Robey in Finsbury Park. My diary tells me 60 or so people came out, that Steve Burgess was called a "prince amongst men" by MR T for providing his bass cab, Jonny & Selina put the bands up in Woolston & Gary Watts did a Morrissey dance to MR T's cover of 'What Difference Does It Make?' ;) The tour was booked by the Mary Jane, Christy, Aidan camp & the flyer artwork was from some big tour posters that had been sent to us. No idea who filmed it but there is plenty of YouTube clips of songs from the gig that Dr Frank Portman has put up." Good times, indeed. #music #shows #punkrock #UK #minds
