This strange and unique-looking evergreen tree is named for the color of its dark resin known as 'dragons blood'. The Dragons Blood tree grows in the harsh, arid climate of the Socotra Island, which is part of the Republic of Yemen. Dragon's blood is used as a stimulant and to induce abortion. The root yields a gum-resin, used in gargle water as a stimulant, astringent and in toothpaste.
