Known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, those 2 stressful weeks brought the world to the brink of a full-out nuclear war. JFK’s adroit diplomacy and persistence eventually got the superpowers out of the gridlock, saving thousands of lives on both hemispheres. We thought we’d t-shirt about it… So, here’s President Jack Kennedy, armed to the teeth yet sleek and classy as ever, flanked by 2 USS navy vessels, with a sheaf of inconspicuous nuclear missiles sticking out a quiver. Mr President’s confident gait contrasts with the soviet premier’s Nikita Khrushchev’s seeming breakdown from realising he had just given up his Cuban nukes in exchange for a ‘promise’ that the US wouldn’t attack Cuba.
