One Million Token Airdrop to Migrate Crypto Twitter to Minds

There is a clear migration underway from big tech platforms to alternatives that protect your freedom of expression. Millions of people worldwide are leaving traditional social networks like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook in search of new places to freely speak their minds and connect with others.

But there is more work to be done.

The unfortunate reality is that big tech still has its tentacles latched into our devices and daily routines. Many of our world’s most influential voices still invest most of their time and energy into these platforms. To break these chains, we need to latch our tentacles into them.

So starting today, we are announcing a new tool called Twitter Sync to facilitate this migration.

While we wish we could offer this tool to everyone, Twitter has very restrictive rate limits on their API. Consequently, we must reserve the quota for those who have over 25,000 followers on Twitter.

Here is how it works:

To incentivize those without a large Twitter following, we will offer a matching airdrop to anyone who refers someone with over 25,000 Twitter followers to join Minds and connect their Twitter account (user must sign up through your referral code).

We will also continue to issue 10,000 tokens per day through the Minds Token reward system for users who are contributing to the app by posting quality content, providing liquidity, or holding tokens on-chain.

The airdrop will take place off-chain on December 31, 2021 (not immediately). 

To be eligible, your profile must be completely set up and include a custom avatar, banner, and bio. You also must opt-in to the token rewards program by verifying a phone number and an on-chain wallet. A maximum of one million MINDS tokens will be airdropped. 

Our hope is that this initiative makes it extremely simple for Twitter’s largest and most influential users to build up their presence on Minds. This will significantly improve the quality of content on Minds and, at the same time, inspire a multitude of influencer fans to start following them on our censorship-free network instead of Twitter. 

As their engagement grows on Minds and the censorship continues on Twitter, we believe that we will eventually reach a tipping point that spurs many to make Minds their primary focus. We are, therefore, taking the necessary steps to make the migration from big tech as easy as possible.
