I am an older gentleman now in retirement. I have paid my dues to the thieves in suits and hope that I can survive my remaining years while retaining whatever human(e)ity I have left. My name is Richard Morrissey but I go by John. I am an adventurer at heart. I’ve traveled the globe and have embraced and enjoyed many cultures. Malaysia, Egypt, and much of Western Europe have given me such amazing experiences. Never stop adding to your bucket list.
California has been okay for me. I’ve been in trouble here. I’ve been married here, and divorced. I’ve also completed most of my schooling here, gained a degree in Religious Studies at the University of California. My then wife and I joined an organization called Stephen Ministry, through our church. It’s a service where we walked beside people who were going through difficult times. My main focus was to support the other ministers. An MFT offers me much, as someday I hope to hang out my own shingle.
When not reading, walking beside friends, stabbing stuff with a spear, drawing or helping out my mother, I like to write. I belong to a writers group, a forum I can only recommend to anyone. In 2015 I published my first dark-fantasy novel, Conversion, and I’m about half-way trough writing book two of the trilogy.
